We observe the applicable legislation and regulations in the area of privacy when processing personal data. We inform you in this privacy and cookie statement about the manner in which we handle your data.
Categories of personal data
Using the website and the services available on it means that you leave behind certain data. This occurs at our surgery within the context of the treatment contract. This may involve personal data. We store and use only the personal data that are provided directly by you or for which it is clear, when provided to us, that these data have been provided to us for processing.

- Citizen Service Number (BSN)
- Insurance details
- Old file

Basis for data processing
We are only allowed to process your personal data lawfully if we do so on a legal basis . We process your personal data because this is necessary for the performance of the contract between us and yourself, as laid down in Article 6 paragraph 1 under b of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In addition, we may also process your personal data for another legitimate interest, such as informing our patients about current events or changes to our services. This basis is laid down in Article 6 paragraph 1 under f of the GDPR.
Purposes of data processing
The personal data we collect are used for the following purposes:
- Generating a patient card;
- Updating a medical file;
- Scheduling appointments;
- Reminding you of your appointment;
- Carrying out treatment;
- Keeping a record of the preferences you have indicated;
- Improving our services;
- Providing other services you have requested.
Provision of your personal data to third parties
In principle, we only provide your personal data to third parties if you have personally consented thereto. Provision of data without your consent takes place if this is necessary to be able to carry out the contract between us and yourself or if a statutory obligation prescribes that we must do so.
Retention periods
We will not retain your data for longer than is necessary for the purposes described in this privacy and cookie statement, unless this is necessary on the basis of a statutory obligation. We apply the statutory retention period of 15 years from the Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO) as regards the retention of your medical data. In addition to the WGBO, we also take account of the retention periods that arise from other legislation if necessary. We apply a statutory retention period of 7 years as regards the retention of your financial data.
Security measures
We have implemented suitable security measures in order to protect your data optimally. Our surgery works in accordance with the NEN7510 standard for information security, and a privacy policy has been drawn up and implemented within the surgery.

The use of cookies
We use cookies for the operation of our website. Our website places cookies from American company Google, as part of the Analytics service. We use this service to keep a record of and obtain reports regarding the manner in which visitors use the website. We use this service for users who have not logged in. The information collected by Google is transferred to and store on servers in the United States. We have concluded a processing agreement with Google. The information collected by Google is anonymised as much as possible. We have no control over the use of the data by Google and/or third parties. Your rights
If you have provided personal data to us, you will have various rights you will be able to exercise. For example, you have the right to inspect, rectify and erase your data. You may also request us to transfer your data to you or another party or to limit the data processing. You are also free to submit an objection to the processing of your data. What is more, you have the right to withdraw your consent at all times.
